This image, released on March 25, 2022, by the North Korean Official News Service (KCNA), shows North Korean leader Kim Jong Un overseeing the test launch of a new type of Hwasongpho-17 inter-continental ballistic missile. On Thursday, Pyongyang confirmed that it had tested the massive Hwasong-17 for the first time, saying that the missile traveled close to 700 miles and reached an altitude of 3,882 miles on a lofted trajectory, far higher than any other previous North Korean ICBM.
