Malaysian Craft Promotion at Harrods, London, Britain - 26 Feb 2009
Harrods held a celebration of all things Malaysian today to launch its new month-long promotion of the country's craft. The King and Queen of Malaysia were both on hand for the celebration, which featured a demonstration of Malaysian ethnic dances and songs and a fashion show featuring fabrics such as batik, songket and tenun by Malaysian designers. Until March 28, Harrods will be showcasing an array of Malaysian handicrafts ranging from textiles, ceramics and metalwork to traditionally woven baskets, batik cushion covers and other home accessories. In total there are around 3,173 items from 66 entrepreneurs, all gathered together under the slogan "Malaysian craft at its best".
