(110905) -- GUANGZHOU, Sept. 8, 2011 (Xinhua) -- Workers assemble remote-controlled toy cars at Jingwei Toys Company in Chenghai District of Shantou City, south China's Guangdong Province, Sept. 2, 2011.
Chenghai District, where thousands of toy manufacturing companies are located, is an important toy export base in China.
The country's toy export, however, has been challenged by shrinking demand in certain foreign markets amid the worsening debt crisis in the world's major economies.
The toy manufacturing companies then are committed to product innovation and transformation, by making more efforts to develop new-type products of their own brand with upgrading quality standards.
"The reliable quality which meets the international standards paves the way for our own toy products to attract more consumers abroad," said Guo Zhuocai, director of Huawei Toys Company in the Chenghai District.
In the first six months of this year, Chenghai's toy industry saw 271 million U.S. dollars in exports, up 26.8 percent year-on-year.
