NEWS - New York: Demonstration für die Pressefreiheit
Activists rally in front of the New York Times building in midtown Manhattan in New York on Sunday, February 26, 2017. The rally, organized by a number of groups, was in response to the White House banning the New York Times, CNN and other organizations for attending a press briefing and President Trumps' branding news that disagrees with him "Fake News". Many of the protesters wore duct tape over their mouths in protest of the president's efforts to stifle the press. (Photo by Richard B. Massacre at Virginia Tech University
April 16, 2007, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA: An unknown shooter crept onto the pastoral campus of Virginia Tech University in the early morning hours and began a shooting spree by murdering Ryan Casey, a Resident Adviser in the West Ambler Johnston Dormitory at approximately 7:15 a.m. One other student, believed to be a female, was shot with him. As police and authorities arrived to assess the damage the gunman apparently made a move to Norris Hall where he shot at least 47 other people, 31 of which perished including the shooter who put a bullet in his own head after the bloodbath. Authorities are under scrutiny for allowing so much time to pass without clearing the campus or warning the students of the potential dangers. Conflicting reports identify the shooter(s) in each campus location as two different men. Federal and local authorities are working to try to identify the shooter(s) and to link the two separate murders.///Students gather by Virginia Tech University's War Memorial Chapel for a candle-light vigil..
