Aerial view of one of the markings in the arid landscape
Aerial view of mysterious markings on the ground, South Africa - Jul 2017
*Full story: https://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/txoh
These amazing images show an aerial view of intriguing markings etched into the ground in South Africa. The aerial photos were taken by local photographer Dillon Marsh and show what appear to be random doodles covering vast areas. Dillon comments: "When seen from above the arid west coast of South Africa features some extraordinary markings. "Clustered between the small towns of Koingnaas and Kotzesrus are vast patterns, often kilometres long ? a variety of shapes and symbols that defy interpretation". However, there fantastical appearance belies a somewhat more everyday explanation. Dillon explains: "These are not the designs of an ancient civilisation or extraterrestrials, but long strips of earth ploughed by local sheep farmers, who grew wheat and barley here to feed their livestock.

the eleventh day of Banksy
Banksy enthusiasts flock to the trendy Meatpacking District in New York on Friday, October 11, 2013 to see the eleventh installment of Banksys art, "The Sirens of the Lambs". This particular sculptural piece consists of a slaughterhouse truck filled with bleating plush animals, controlled by puppeteers, which were driven around by a driver, who remained in character. The elusive street artist is creating works around the city each day, during the month of October accompanied by a satirical recorded message parodying a museum tour which you can get by calling the number followed by # and the number of artwork. Place Hacking: Forth Rail Bridge, Scotland
Forth Rail Bridge, Scotland, UK. What does it feel like to find the cityÕs edges, to explore its hidden tunnels and scale its skyscrapers? Place hacking, also known as urban exploration and infiltration, is the practice of accessing off-limits spaces in the city, seeing what you are not supposed to see. From the lost underground stations of London to abandoned cold war bunkers and ruins in Eastern Europe to the tallest construction projects in Paris, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit and Las Vegas, place hackers exploit holes in urban security to reveal the hidden world. The photos from these adventures are both documentation of secret space and a political statement about our rights to the city.
