AA Patrolmen at school .
Nearly forty five years ago, in August 1905, a small group of motoring enthusiasts met to discuss a matter which had been causing them a great deal of trouble and indignation . They were being persecuted by the magistrates and police of the country districts, who, between them were crediting a continuous flow of convictions on the most paltry and insubstantial motor charges. To combat this threat to their new recreation this small band of motorists decided to form themselves into an association . In September 1905, the Automobile Association was formally founded. Today the number of members is well over 850,000. This school, established in the summer of 1948, is the first that the Association has had .

Visit from Marlene .
There are still plenty of guesses flying around about how Marlene Dietrich's age . But one thing is certain - that she is always willing to put her fame and her talent to generous free use for a worthy charity - and especially for children charities . Just now she is appearing in cabaret in London at the Cafe de Paris . But recently she was the star turn in a huge midnight charity matinee organised by Noel Coward in aid of the Actor's Orphanage , of which he is President . This show raised over £10,000 for the Orphanage . Soon afterwards , President Noel took Marlene - the biggest money - spinner on his bill - down to see the children of the Orphanage in their fine building in Chertsey in Surrey . The sun for once was shone , the 32 boys and girls were scrupulously washed and tidied up m and at 5 o'clock up drove a gleaming Rolls Royce and out stepped Coward and Dietrich .
PICTURE SHOWS:- Marlene gets a critical glance from orphan girl on right . Maybe she wants to compare the face behind the pen with the face she'll see on the photo which Marlene is about to hand her .

It would be almost true to say that the more exclusive a London shop , the less impressive it is from outside . Many of them , particularly those around St . From the street , the shop looks like a relic , slowly design from lack of custom . There is no bustle , no neon, and certainly there's never a queue ; yet it is to Lock's that the Duke of Windsor , the Duke of Edinburgh , the Duke of Norfolk , Sir Anthony Eden , and most of the names from Debrett come for their headgear .

Homing Pigeon
An eleven -year-old girl Marion Earthy and her friends one day found an injured pigeon in Church Street , Reading . That was a year ago . Marion fed and looked after the pigeon in her garden at Crown Place , Reading . Soon it was cured and able to fly again . As soon as the bird was strong enough Marion's mother thought that it should be given its freedom . So on the following Sunday morning the family went out for a drive - accompanied by '' Pidgey Pie '' - as Marion called her feathered friend . They motored out of Reading and they released the pigeon . Tears began to well up in little Marion's eyes for her and her '' Pidgey Pie '' had become as friendly as a pair of turtle doves . Two days later , as Mrs Earthy busied herself about the house , there was a coo-ing at the window . '' Pidgey Pie '' was back ! When Marion returned home from school she began crying again - but this time she was shedding tears of joy . And , '' Pidgey Pie '' and Marion lived happily ever after.......
Picture shows:- In the classroom Pidgey-Pie is an extra , accepted pupil - he even tries to help Marion with her lessons .
