ALEXANDER MCQUEEN COMMITS SUICIDE
Famous designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after apparently committing suicide.
The 40-year-old's death was confirmed by his office who called it a "tragic loss".
Millionaire McQueen's death comes just three years after his close friend Isabella Blow took her own life.
Born Lee Alexander McQueen on 17 March 1969 the designer started his fashion career at a young age by making dresses for his three sisters.
After leaving school at 16 he landed an apprenticeship at Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard.
He also worked for Gieves & Hawkes and the famous theatrical costumiers Angels and Bermans.
After working in Italy he returned to London in 1994 and attended the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
His graduation collection was famously bought in its entirety by influential fashion stylist Blow, who went on to become a great friend.
Blow killed herself in May 2007, taking an overdose of weed killer after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
At the time of her death there were rumours of a rift between her and McQueen, rumours that the designer labeled "b******s".
Following Blow's death McQueen dedicated his spring summer 2008 show at Paris fashion week to her.
Throughout his accomplished career McQueen was, amongst other achievements, one of the youngest designers to achieve the title "British Designer of the Year" - a title he won a total of four times.
He was also awarded a CBE and was named International Designer of the Year at the Council of Fashion Designer Awards.

Pierce Brosnan and son Sean
They may look like yet another couple of Malibu bleached blond beach bums, but these two young men are actually the children of two Hollywood megastars. Long-haired Brawley is Nick Nolte?s boy while Sean is the son of James Bond star, Pierce Brosnan; the two met by chance at a party in London, despite both growing up in the same coastal neighbourhood of Malibu in California. As is often the case with stars? offspring, their parents? fame and wealth has afforded them an easier life than some and sometimes offered the temptation to stray from the path, leading to the inevitable ?bad boy? label from the press. However, despite their brushes with the law and dropping out of further education, the two pals eventually both turned to their fathers? profession and are now planning on a joint film venture.
Q&A by Ruth Fowler
So how did you guys get into acting? Obviously your fathers' successful acting careers must have influenced you in some way.
SEAN: I didn't want to go into acting because I didn't want to be compared to my father, and also I guess I was scared of failing. I was captain of the boxing team in my boarding school (Millfield), but after the car accident (In April 2000 when Sean was 16 he was in a devastating car crash in California) I couldn't do it anymore, so I tried acting. So I actually got into it because I couldn't box, but once I was onstage, the applause and the attention was just amazing, phenomenal! I got an A in Drama and Art, and an F in everything else. I knew what I wanted to do, so I didn't try at all. I just wanted to be an artist one way or the other. My dad was upset, but happy that I was doing well in the drama department.
BRAWLEY: I started younger, when I was 8, in a movie called Ransom with Mel Gibson. I left school while doing that project...
