Zweite Chance: Das Monterey Bay Aquarium schickt zwei Südseeotterwelpen wegen Überfüllung ans Shedd Aquarium in Chicago -- These are the adorable pictures of two rescued endangered otter pups getting a second chance. See National News story NNotter. The Shedd Aquarium welcomed two orphaned Southern Sea Otter pups from Monterey Bay Aquarium. Their internationally recognized sanctuary for otters is already full and could not take any more. Both male, the pups are only a week apart in age and born in mid-May. They still don’t have names: pup 872 is younger and weighs 13.4 pounds while pup 870 weighs in at 17 pounds. Because both pups were not raised by their mother, it’s doubtful they would be able to survive in the wild. / action press *** Local Caption *** 30093857

They are located in an area of 1,500 square meters and with a temperature between -15 ° C and -5 ° C. The couple lived in a zoo in the Russian city of Kazan but, according to experts, the space was not large enough for their proper development (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)
