The Lego Backpacker looking scared before an epic bus ride in China
Lego man goes backpacking around the world - May 2016
FULL COPY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/sb5c
A little Lego man is currently jetting around the world on a mini gap year with his human owner.
Human owner Tom, 31, decided to take a year off and travel around the world...and he took the Lego Backpacker with him to enjoy the journey of a lifetime to twenty countries over the last six months.
Tom said: "When I left Melbourne I started travelling with my now ex-girlfriend and she was setting up her online travel blog and I wanted to do something as well to keep myself busy during the trip (especially during long train rides, buses, waiting at airports etc). I have always been a big fan of Lego, so the idea kind of came together when she mentioned trying to merge that with my photos.

A cabinet able to display life-sized holographic 3D-like images of people beamed anywhere in the world has been tested.
US firm Proto, formerly known as Portl, had a mini version available in 2021.
It consists of a 222 cm high, 137 cm wide and 72cm deep standalone unit
As well as enabling people to meet and speak over long distances, it was also used for displaying digital art, for example.
The new incarnation is called Epic designed to beam life-size images of people into a home, workplace, theatre or event space for real-time interaction with a sense of depth.
The viewing window is touch-enabled using artificial intelligence-powered cameras, speakers and microphones.
Inside are LED lights which helping with shadows and reflections.
The company’s first application of the technology has taken place in Washington DC at a recent symposium for deaf and hard of hearing people.

STORY COPY: What’s the best picture of Earth ever?
That’s the question NASA’s Earth Observatory is asking in a visually arresting contest they have called Tournament Earth 2020.
Since 1999, Earth Observatory has published over 16,000 images, so to celebrate their 20th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, they want the public to pick their all-time best image.
Readers will narrow the field from 32 nominees down to one champion in a five-round knockout-style tournament. Pictures have been chosen under the categories: Past Winners, Home Planet, Land & Ice, and Sea & Sky. These will go head-to-head each week from March 23 to April 28, 2020, when a tournament winner will be announced.
NASA Earth Observatory is an online publishing outlet for NASA which was created in 1999. It is the principal source of satellite imagery and other scientific information pertaining to the climate and the environment which are being provided by NASA for consumption by the general public.
The DSCOVR satellite captured the shadow of the Moon marching across Earth’s sunlit face.
In this, the only total solar eclipse of 2016, the shadow of the new Moon starts crossing the Indian Ocean and marches past Indonesia and Australia into the open waters and islands of Oceania (Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia) and the Pacific Ocean. Note how the shadow moves in the same direction as Earth rotates. The bright spot in the center of each disk is sunglint—the reflection of sunlight directly back at the EPIC camera.
