Israel-US Strike Iran: Spurs Protests in GERMANY
March 2, 2026, Berlin, Germany: Supporters waving Israeli and Iranian flags gathered near the Israeli Embassy in Berlin to celebrate the reported killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, chanting pro-U.S. and pro-Israel slogans and singing songs as police tightened security around the diplomatic compound. Authorities said the gathering remained largely peaceful, though officers maintained a visible presence as crowds formed, chanted, and waved flags in a show of solidarity with Israel and the United States following the dramatic developments in the Middle East. Trump releases fake video of US hockey player insulting Canadians
American hockey player Brady Tkachuk (with beard) of the U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team meets President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, Tuesday, February 24, 2026. American hockey player Brady Tkachuk said Thursday that he did not appreciate a doctored TikTok video shared by the White House that made it look like he was disparaging Canadians after winning Olympic gold, calling it fake and something he would never say. The video includes fabricated audio of Tkachuk referring to Canadians as “maple syrup eating (expletive),” with the expletive bleeped out. The video carries a note saying it “contains AI-generated media.” “It’s clearly fake because it’s not my voice and not my lips moving,” Tkachuk said. “I’m not in control of any of those accounts. … I know that those words would never come out of my mouth.” Asked if he liked the video, Tkachuk said he did not: “I would never say that. That’s not who I am.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (POLARIS) (FOTO:DUKAS/POLARIS)

Five minutes of special training can significantly improve a person’s ability to identify fake faces created by artificial intelligence, says new research.

It’s a skill that can help people negotiate a world of fake news and images as well as security threats and online scams.

The training was developed after researchers tested 664 participants' ability to distinguish between real human faces and faces generated by computer software called StyleGAN3.

Without any training, super-recognisers individuals who score significantly higher than average on face recognition tests correctly identified fake faces 41% of the time.

Participants with typical abilities scored just 31%.

A new set of participants then received a brief training procedure, which highlighted common computer rendering mistakes such as unusual hair patterns or incorrect numbers of teeth.

Super-recognisers achieved 64% accuracy in detecting fake faces, while typical participants scored 51% accuracy.

The training affected both groups equally, suggesting super-recognisers may use different visual cues than typical observers when identifying synthetic faces, rather than simply being better at spotting rendering errors.

The training was developed by UK scientists from the universities of Reading, Greenwich, Leeds and Lincoln.

OPS: faces participants were asked to analyse. The first two, rows A and B are fake. Rows Cand D are real. Row E contains badly rendered AI faces.

Experience: I was in a Scientology jazz band. Neil Sarfati in Miami.
In 1968, I was 23 and looking for answers. I was living in Texas, working in textiles, smoking a lot of marijuana, and exploring things such as Zen Buddhism. I was stoned when my neighbour spoke to me about Scientology and it sounded interesting; space cadets and all that. I started taking some courses. I was looking at it from more of a philosophical view but as you get into it, you become hooked.

I was married, but my wife was smarter than me and didn’t care for Scientology. We moved to San Francisco, and I regret this, but I soon left her, thinking I was going to save the world. I joined the Sea Org in Los Angeles – an organisation within the church comprised of its most dedicated members. Following investigations by government agencies in the US, L Ron Hubbard bought a fleet of ships and moved operations offshore. The Sea Org was asked to crew them, so I went with my new wife, a Scientologist.

  • Experience: I was in a Scientology jazz band.
L Ron Hubbard spent hours with us each day. I was scared the first time I met him, because I thought he could read minds

Experience: I was in a Scientology jazz band. L Ron Hubbard spent hours with us each day. I was scared the first time I met him, because I thought he could read minds
Experience: I was in a Scientology jazz band.

I was married, but my wife was smarter than me and didnÕt care for Scientology. We moved to San Francisco, and I regret this, but I soon left her, thinking I was going to save the world. I joined the Sea Org in Los Angeles Ð an organisation within the church comprised of its most dedicated members. Following investigations by government agencies in the US, L Ron Hubbard bought a fleet of ships and moved operations offshore. The Sea Org was asked to crew them, so I went with my new wife, a Scientologist.
