CU Unrest After Harassment Incident
August 31, 2025, Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh: Following the harassment of a female student at Chittagong University (CU), clashes broke out repeatedly between students and local residents, leaving at least 200 people injured. The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for treatment. To bring the situation under control, the Upazila administration imposed Section 144, prohibiting all types of gatherings, processions, demonstrations, explosive materials, firearms, and indigenous weapons in the conflict-affected areas.
