Morrisons supermarkets are giving away 200,000 wonky carrots to support the Christmas Eve tradition of leaving out refreshments for Santa and his reindeers. The move aims to introduce kids to wonky veg, encourage families to buy large or misshapen carrots, and help out busy parents who might otherwise forget a gift for Father Christmas. New research revealed that leaving out refreshments is still popular, with 6.2 million UK families (77%) doing so this Christmas Eve

he Airlander 10, billed as the world's largest aircraft - a cross between a plane, an airship and a helicopter is the length of a football pitch and the height of six double-decker buses, which dwarfs the current world's largest passenger jet, the Airbus A380 pictured in its hanger at Cardington Airships, Bedfordshire.
The hybrid aircraft promises to be able to lift heavier payloads than passenger planes, while producing far less noise and pollution, and having a smaller carbon footprint. It needs to clock up 200 hours of flying before it is deemed airworthy by the Civil Aviation Authority and the European Aviation Safety Agency.

French flag flies over Sydney Harbour bridge, Sydney, Australia - 15 Nov 2015
Mandatory Credit: Photo by James D. Morgan/REX Shutterstock (5367976e)
The French flag has been raised on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge as a show of solidarity with the French people after the attacks in Paris.
It is flying alongside the Australian flag at full-mast on the western side, replacing the NSW state flag.
Premier Mike Baird tweeted on Saturday that he would have a French flag made if his government could not find one the right size.
"I've asked for French flag to fly over the Harbour Bridge. There isn't one in the country big enough. If we can't find one, we'll make one," he said.
Premier Baird tweeted on Sunday that the Sydney Opera House would again be lit in the French colours from 8:00pm to midnight tonight and Monday night.
The Sydney Opera House was among a range of landmarks to light up in the colours blue, white and red as Australians showed their support for Parisians rocked by terror attacks.
Vigils were also held around the country in solidarity with the French after more than 120 people were killed in a coordinated series of terror attacks in Paris.
Another 200 were injured, 80 seriously, including 19-year-old Hobart woman Emma Grace Parkinson.

In the year that ?The Iron Lady? would have celebrated her 90th birthday, approximately 350 historic and personal lots will be offered across two landmark sales: a flagship auction presenting 150 lots in London at Christie?s headquarters on Tuesday 15 December, and an online only sale comprising 200 lots from 3 December to 16 December. These sales are taking place 25 years after Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013) left Office, following an 11-year tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1979-1990). With items relating to Margaret Thatcher?s time in Office, including her red leather Prime Ministerial Dispatch box (estimate: GBP 3,000-5,000), speech notes and an impressive gift from President Ronald Reagan, alongside jewellery, clothes and handbags, these auctions present unique opportunities for collectors to acquire property from the longest serving Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the 20th century
