Morrisons supermarkets are giving away 200,000 wonky carrots to support the Christmas Eve tradition of leaving out refreshments for Santa and his reindeers. The move aims to introduce kids to wonky veg, encourage families to buy large or misshapen carrots, and help out busy parents who might otherwise forget a gift for Father Christmas. New research revealed that leaving out refreshments is still popular, with 6.2 million UK families (77%) doing so this Christmas Eve

We Shall Never Forget 9/11 "The Kids' Book of Freedom" Colouring Book - Sep 2011

A page from We Shall Never Forget 9/11 "The Kids' Book of Freedom" Colouring Book
The 9/11 Colouring Book
A controversial colouring book about the 9/11 terrorist attacks has gone on sale.
Called 'We Shall Never Forget 9/11: The Kids' Book of Freedom', it covers a span of 10 years into the war on terror.
Included inside are pictures of the burning twin towers, weeping relatives of victims and the execution of a cowering Osama bin Laden.
A caption to accompany the terror chief's death reads: "Children, the truth is, these terrorist acts were done by freedom-hating radical Islamic Muslim extremists. These crazy people hate the American way of life because we are FREE and our society is FREE."
Missouri-based publisher Really Big Coloring Books say the 36-page book "presents a respectful graphic representation of the events from that day."
In a statement they say: "To the American people and all others who may read this child's colouring book; We Shall Never Forget is designed to be a tool that parents can use to help teach children about the facts surrounding 9/11.
"In this book you will see what happens to a terrorist who orders others to bomb our peace loving wonderful nation. This book was created with honesty, integrity, reverence, respect and does not shy away from the truth."
The makers explain that the book has a PG (parental guidance) rating as it deals with "the truth". A portion of the $6.99 price tag will go to charity.
