The annual fancy dress charity horse ride on Wimbledon common south west London kicked off this morning as 18 horses trotted through the common with riders wearing various costumes from the Wombles to Wonder Women. The 10 mile ride from Wimbledon Stables to Richmond Park and back, raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Wimbledon Common Conservators and Ebony Horse Club. Over the years it has raised £1,000,000 for charity. Weather forecasters predict a last blast of summer sun for the weekend with highs of 26c. However, rain and cooler temperatures on Sunday are expected.
