Extermi-nut! Squirrels And Birds Go Nuts For Dr Who Treat
    Video: https://vimeo.com/83304679

Squirrels and birds clearly weren't in fear of being exterminated as they tucked into this nut-covered Dalek!

The unusual treat, on a bird table in Hampshire, was created by pensioner Victoria Baker.

She used an old dalek toy of her grandson's, and painstakingly covered it with hundreds of peanuts and sunflower seeds.

"I used melted brown sugar and peanut butter to act as glue," said Mrs Baker, 87, at her home in Lyndhurst, in the New Forest National Park.

"It took several hours to complete, but I'm very happy with the result, as are the local squirrels and birds!"

Mrs Baker and 10 year-old grandson Charlie sat at the window watching as the first grey squirrel confronted the foot-high dalek, complete with nut-packed plunger.

"The animal was very nervous to start with, but soon realised one of his favourite foods was on offer," she said.

"Once he knew the dalek was not going to exterminate him, he started tucking in.

"Pigeons, robins, thrushes and blue tits followed quickly."

Mrs Baker said she has watched Doctor Who since it began in the sixties, first with her children, then with her grandchildren.

"We've all enjoyed it over the years."

The hit BBC show celebrated it's fiftieth anniversary last year, and the Christmas Day special saw the Doctor battling the daleks once again.

New Doctor Peter Capaldi will start filming series eight of the show this month, but fans will have to wait until the autumn before it hits screens.

Get off my nuts! This prairie dog was trying to eat a meal in peace before an intrusive bird began to harass him and even attempted to steal his food...The rodent nonchalantly ignored his feathered 'friend' and simply carried on chomping his nut. For 20 minutes intrigued visitors at St Louis Zoo watched as the nosy starling relentlessly hassled the helpless black-tailed prairie dog. Acrobatic Squirrel Munches On Peanut 'Kebab'
Just how many ways are there to eat a kebab? Well, if you're this crafty squirrel the answer is 'many'.

The acrobatic creature went to extreme lengths to gets its paws on some tasty peanuts when he spotted them hanging in a garden in Fareham, Hampshire.

In fact, the persistent grey squirrel was determined not to give up until it had stolen every single treat from the suspended nut 'kebab'.

His dexterity meant it was a case of squirrel 1, homeowner 0.

According to Sue Bellamy, every time she put peanuts out for the birds they were consistently stolen by squirrels.

She says: "As soon as I put the nuts out on the table they where gone. The squirrels just picked them up and off they went.

"Then my husband came up with the kebab idea so I threaded the peanuts onto an old knitting needle and hung them".

However, as Sue is first to admit, her idea hasn't quite worked, with the determined squirrels patiently working out how to get their prize.

She adds: "The squirrels now take ages to work out the best way to eat the kebab".

Fried egg is panna cotta and lemon curd; sausage is carmelised peanut butter sponge and bacon is brandy snaps.
Dessert for Breakfast - Fry-up made from Sweet Ingredients
Amateur cook Vicky McDonald, 30, has re-created the Great British Breakfast from dessert items, one which would be best washed down with sweet wine rather than a builder's tea.

The fried egg is in actual fact panna cotta with lemon curd; dark chocolate biscuit cake gives the illusion of black pudding; the sausages are peanut butter coated sponge wrapped in caramelised rice paper; the hash browns are brioche and Vicky's personal favourite, the baked beans, are small biscuits coated in white chocolate with an orange and strawberry coulis.

The hardest bit for Vicky was the streaky bacon; this part of the breakfast really had her stumped.

She said: "I even thought about making a jelly pork belly and then cutting slices of bacon jelly from it. But it turned out the brandy snaps gave me the right crispy texture."

It took Dublin-based Vicky a few weeks and attempts to figure out the ultimate sweet breakfast (suitable for vegetarians) with some delicious disasters along the way.

"I originally wanted the hash browns to be crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the middle so I attempted to deep fry home-made marshmallows, which resulted in a spectacularly gooey mess.

"In the end I decided to use brioche as it's one of my favourite breakfast foods," explained Vicky.

Vicky's humble breakfast idea began with the fried egg.

"I often make panna cotta and serve it with lemon curd. The two together always remind me of a fried egg, so I started off making this and then experimented with the rest of the food items," she explained.

Fried egg is panna cotta and lemon curd and sausage is carmelised peanut butter sponge.

Greedy Chipmunk is just too cheeky!
This greedy chipmunk bites off more than he can chew as he stuffs his cheeks during a nut feast. The furry critter's eyes were bigger than its mouth as it optimistically crams nuts into his gob. Before long the peanuts start to spill out and the cheeky chipmunk has to scamper off to store the hoard. However, it was not long before he came back to plunder the rest of the feed. Lori Deiter, who snapped these pictures, leaves the nuts out as a treat for several chipmunks that run up to her garden door, in Pennsylvania.

Fantastic Face Paint: Artist Creates A New Face Every Day
    *EXCLUSIVE TO REX*

FANTASTIC FACE PAINT: ARTIST CREATES A NEW FACE EVERY DAY

Wacky artist James Kuhn wowed the world by painting his own face every day for a year.

Now the 47-year-old from Three Oaks, Michigan is doing it again - and his work is better than ever.

Imaginative James decided to come up with a new face every day, with designs ranging from cartoon characters to some of his favourite foods.

And one again he will put a smile on YOUR face with crazy caricatures of Superman, Charlie Brown, Wonder Woman and Evel Knievel.

There are also poignant tributes to Michael Jackson and Mollie Sugden, the British actress famous for her role as Mrs Slocombe in sitcom Are You Being Served?.

Other creations include a mummy, Freddie Kruger, a golf tee Santa and a rabid pit bull!

Some of James' creations are so convincing it is hard to work out where his facial features are under the make-up. Often the only clue is a solitary open eye.

Of his efforts, James says: "I had so much fun last year with the first 365 faces, that I am starting another 365 transformations, even though I must be crazy.

"This has been the hardest thing I have ever done - and the most rewarding.

"So many days I just did not feel like getting covered in paint. Sometimes I was sick or tired and last time I even had a fever of 102 degrees one day so I just couldn't do it.

"I did do one the next day and I was still so hot that the paint ran down my face.

"This time i give myself permission to take a few days off whenever I need too once in a while.

"But the entire experience stretched my imagination and forced me to reach deep inside for more and more ideas."

But although James has just passed hundred day mark of his second year of face paint he is con...

The squirrel was actually sniffing out peanuts hidden under the umbrella's spokes, but managed to avoid the rain in doing so. Mr Weggen set up the scenes and hid peanuts to attract inquisitive squirrels who often visit his garden, in Bispgarden, Sweden. SEE OUR COPY FOR MORE INFORMATION.

An artist has turned peanuts into amazing celebrity caricatures and animals by using 'nut art'.

Ohio-based artist Steve Casino paints 'insanely' tiny portraits on peanuts.

In the photos famous peanuts can be seen, including a Breaking Bad inspired Walter White peanut, a Taylor Swift peanut and an Iron Man peanut.

Meanwhile, other photos show cleverly painted peanut dogs, pieces of sushi and hotdogs.

    "Say...PEANUT BUTTER!"

American photographer Greg Murray captured the amusing series "For the love of Peanut Butter" to celebrate pooches and the amusing expressions they pull whilst eating.

Ohio-based Greg, 34, has taken nearly 100 photos of dogs to date for the series. As a rescue animal advocate, Greg has tried to photograph as many rescues as possible.

Greg said: "The original idea for the series came about around 2 years ago. My fiancé Kristen and I had a rescue Mastiff named Bailey. I loved getting pictures of Bailey with her tongue out and her typical drool. I found the best way to do that was to give her a little bit of peanut butter.

"She unfortunately passed a few months after that photo was taken. The book will be dedicate to her. She touched many people through the photos I took of her. Although we only had her for just over a year, she meant the world to us."
