Sand creeping into a deserted hallway in the ghost town of Kolmanshop, Namibia
Namibia ghost town, Namibia - 2014
FULL COPY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/qu6k
A photographer has captured a series of eerie images of a ghost town in Namibia.
Kolmanskop, in Namibia, was once a thriving settlement built around a productive western Namibia diamond mine.
The miners and settlers abandoned the town in the 1950s and left its houses and buildings to fend for themselves against the advancing desert sands, which have been reclaiming it ever since.
Minneapolis-based photographer Ian Plant, 42, said: "With its colourful painted walls and sweeping sand dunes engulfing entire rooms, the ghost town is a wonderful place to explore.

Squalid conditions in the hallway at the home Amanda Hutton
Mother allowed 4-year-old son to starve to death then kept mummified body in bedroom, Bradford, Britain - 03 Oct 2013
A mother has been found guilty of manslaughter after allowing her 4-year-old son to starve to death before keeping mummified body in her bedroom. Hamzah Khan's mummified remains were discovered at Amanda Hutton's squalid Bradford home almost two years after he died in December 2009. During her trial Hutton claimed that her son was a fussy eater and difficult child who starved himself. However, the prosecution alleged that Hutton was a "nasty drunk" who cared more for alcohol than her son, who suffered starvation, punishment and neglect. Tests on Hamzah's remains showed he had the bones of a 12 to 18-month-old baby and had no muscle and hardly any flesh when he died. His body was discovered lying in a travel cot wearing a soiled nappy and a sleepsuit for a six to nine-month-old baby.

Hallway through to Micro Kitchen
A Peek Inside Google's London Headquarters
It features a secret garden, 'Granny flat' interiors and an allotment - welcome to Google's new London headquarters.
The 160,000 sq ft hub features cutting-edge design that offers a quirky take on the traditional office.
Occupying half of the ultra-modern Central Saint Giles development in Covent Garden over five floors, renowned interior designers PENSON were given the task of creating a vibrant workspace.
The result is amazing variation of work and lounging space which finds room for 1,250 non-traditional desks.
A space called Granny's Flat is furnished with chintzy chairs and fittings that wouldn't look out of place in an elderly relative's lounge, while the Lala Library hosts a giant semi-circle white sofa adorned with pillows and surrounded by arty and inspirational books.
Surreal workspaces have tongue-in-cheek names such as the Velourmptious snug, a green, padded homage to the traditional British pub, and Snug-lushness, a garish flower-print padded bench seat.
An area dubbed the Town Hall allows seating for 200 people and features velvet curtains, exposed ceilings and a video wall, while the Market Square is a rustic cafeteria area.
For active staff members there is a gym and dance studio, a 'bikedry' for cycling gear storage and a shower block for those sweaty from the morning workout, cycle or commute.
For those really wanting to escape the office, a 'Hedge Your Bets' secret garden on the roof terrace affords stunning views of London surrounded by grass and foliage - all with wi-fi connection for laptop work.
Eco considerations are at the forefront of design with a high content of reclaimed or recycled materials employed and the use of water-based products and timber floor boards with ...
