  • Black Lives Matter in Trafalgar square, and being harrassed by EDL supporters.
    DUKAS_116257628_EYE
Black Lives Matter in Trafalgar square, and being harrassed by EDL supporters.
With the EDL and FLA in Parliament square, a small group of BLM protesters are gathered on Trafalgar square. One of the statues is being protected by a group of ex-paratroopers. They are friendly. Later in the day small groups of EDL and FLA avoid the police cordons and arrive on trafalgar square to disrupt the demonstration. With riot police intervention the 2 groups are separated.
Later in the afternoon more BLM supporters arrive unto the square, and the tension is fairly high with sporadic movements of the crowd as men saying racist words are chased by some members of BLM. There are some arrests.

At about 17:00, the BML move out of Trafalgar square march up the Strand and across Waterloo bridge to Waterloo station where there is a clash with rightwing individuals who are in the station.
