March 17, 2018 - New York, New York, United States - The NYC Saint Patrick's Day Parade was held on March 17, 2018. Along the parade route on 5th Avenue, thousands of spectators came to celebrate. Since it began, this tradition of marching past St. Patrick’s Cathedral has remained unchanged with the exception of the address. In the early years, the Parade would march past the Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral (now Basilica) located at the corner of Mott and Prince Streets in SoHo. The NYC Saint Patrick's Day Parade marched for the first time in 1762 - fourteen years before the Declaration of Independence (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)

PEOPLE - London: Kate und William an der Irish Guards St Patrick's Day Parade
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were back on royal duty today in the aftermath of the controversy over his "dad dancing" antics on a lads' ski break. William, Colonel of the Irish Guards, and Kate visited the 1st Battalion Irish Guards at their base in Hounslow on St PatrickÕs Day before travelling to France on a two-day post-Brexit official trip. The Paris visit is seen as an important diplomatic mission as Britain tries to maintain ties with Europe despite voting to quit the European Union.
