A "smartphone for pets" that lets owners stay in touch with home alone cats and dogs has been unveiled.
The GlocalMe PetPhone C-Plus Suite is a collar worn device designed to provide real-time interaction, precise tracking, and health monitoring.
An owner can call their pet through a special app while the feline or canine can "call" their human by performing specific actions, such as jumping three times within six seconds.
It can also be programmed to recognise "woof-calls" or "meow-calls."
It uses voiceprint recognition to detect sustained barks or meows, which then sends a call notification to the owner's app.
The main advantage of a pet being able to "call" its owner is to facilitate a two-way emotional connection and provide an alert that the pet may need attention or comfort when the owner is physically absent.
Owners can remotely play up to 60 soothing music tracks or pre-recorded voice messages for emotional support to ease separation anxiety.
It includes a 1080p camera for live viewing and video recording.
The gadget also monitors health and activity levels.
