Historical luxury shopping destination Burlington Arcade unveils a celebratory
installation to mark the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. The installation adorns the historic arcade until Wednesday 31st May 2023. The installation features three symbolic celebratory motifs for this occasion. These motifs include the four flowers of the nation: the Tudor Rose, the national flower of England; the thistle, Scotland’s national flower; the daffodil, the national flower of Wales and finally, the three-leaf shamrock, regarded as the national symbol of Northern Ireland. Alongside the flowers of the nation, King Charles' new royal cypher also appears in the installation’s design. Designed by the College of Arms, the new royal cypher shows His Majesty's initial - C - intertwined with the letter R for Rex, Latin for King, and finally with III to signify Charles III, with the crown above the letters. Another symbolic motif featured across the installation is the official emblem of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
These motifs will be seen decorating the 203-year-old arcade across 55 flags and a 180 metres long carpet running the entire arcade from Piccadilly through to Burlington Gardens. Two of the flags, larger in size, will be presiding over each of the entrances to Burlington Arcade, flanked by plaques featuring King Charles' new royal cypher.

installation to mark the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. The installation adorns the historic arcade until Wednesday 31st May 2023. The installation features three symbolic celebratory motifs for this occasion. These motifs include the four flowers of the nation: the Tudor Rose, the national flower of England; the thistle, Scotland’s national flower; the daffodil, the national flower of Wales and finally, the three-leaf shamrock, regarded as the national symbol of Northern Ireland. Alongside the flowers of the nation, King Charles' new royal cypher also appears in the installation’s design. Designed by the College of Arms, the new royal cypher shows His Majesty's initial - C - intertwined with the letter R for Rex, Latin for King, and finally with III to signify Charles III, with the crown above the letters. Another symbolic motif featured across the installation is the official emblem of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
