Picture MUST credit: Allstars Design
A 120 metre-long luxury superyacht concept has been unveiled — inspired by a water droplet.
The huge vessel features an onboard winter garden, terrarium and tropical aquariums.
The yacht is called Drop because every drop of water holds the blueprint of life.
The design by Finland-based ship design studio Allstars Design, is said to emulate the physical form of a droplet.
Its exterior is cloaked in electrochromic and photovoltaic glass, allowing the vessel to absorb solar energy for its basic operations.
The glass panels can be dimmed individually or in unison, at the touch of a button from the bridge or by guests.
Every pane has the advanced system.
Inside, the yacht gives the impression of being in the heart of a lush green forest.
Curves and rounded forms are said to echo the shapes found in nature, while earthy tones and soft neutrals make up the colour palette.

Des ingénieurs ont développé un drone inspiré des oiseaux, capable de marcher, de sauter et de décoller
Picture MUST credit: Alain Herzog / EPFL A bird-inspired drone which can walk, hop and take-off like with a leap has been developed by engineers. And its capabilities mean it could be used for inspections, disaster mitigation, and delivery in confined areas. The team behind it from Switzerland’s technical university Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale De Lausanne (EPFL) is already working on improved design and control of the legs to facilitate landing in a variety of environments. The flyer is called RAVEN which stands for Robotic Avian-inspired Vehicle for Multiple Environments. The design is based on perching birds like ravens and crows that frequently switch between air and land. The results offer a lightweight design for winged drones that can move on rough terrain and take off from restricted locations without human intervention. That means it can take off autonomously in environments previously inaccessible to winged drones. Previous robots designed to walk have been too heavy to jump, while robots designed to jump did not have feet suitable for walking. RAVEN’s unique design allows it to walk, traverse gaps in terrain, and even to jump up onto an elevated surface 26 cm high. Picture supplied by JLPPA

Le Pegasus est un hydroptère électrique, conçu en fibre de carbone
Picture MUST credit Foilone Boats A fighter plane-inspired hydrofoil is about to take off. The Pegasus has a sleek, aerodynamic body shell which looks like the fuselage of a World War I combat aircraft. It also has deign elements of 1950s F1 cars. But the all electric-powered vessel is made for skimming at speed across the water, not through the air. On board, there’s space for a single rider, and they’re cocooned into the cabin. The battery is located at the front in a space which can also be used as storage for small personal items. The all carbon fibre boat is crafted entirely from strong but lightweight carbon fibre, It has a top speed of 30 knots / 55.5 km/h and can be fully charged in just two hours. It has been created by Finland-based startup Foilone Boats. Picture supplied by JLPPA
