Lindsay Chong Seng is the director of the "Seychelles Island Foundation", an organisation responsible for the conservation of Aldabra and the Vallee de Mai, which have been listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. As a scientist, Chong Seng writes about the natural wonders of the Seychelles, the origins of the granite islands and the unusual features of their flora and fauna.
The island, once inhabited is a bird sanctuary since 1973. It was bought by Christo per Cadbury for the Royal Society for Nature Conversation. 1975 the Seychelles government declared the island a special nature reserve. The small community was moved to other islands. The island was given back to nature.
