Lego Taj Mahal, Britain - Aug 2008

Lego Taj Mahal, Lego have launched the biggest toy in the company's 74 year history - a 5922 piece model of the Taj Mahal. Lego enthusiasts will be able to get hold of the exclusive model from next month on the Lego website (www.lego.com) priced at £200. Only those over the age of 14 are recommended to tackle it because of the model's complexity.
THE BUILD IT YOURSELF LEGO TAJ MAHAL
A challenge has been laid down to all Lego enthusiasts after the company launched the biggest model in its 74-year history - a 5,922-piece replica of the Taj Mahal.
Priced at £200 the model will be on sale from September and is considered to be so tricky that only those over the age of 14 are recommended to tackle it, due to the "advanced building techniques, rare elements and colours, and realistic details of architecture".
When finished the model measures 3ft wide and 2ft tall and uses a whopping 800 more Lego bricks than the company's next biggest model - the Star Wars Millennium Falcon.
Lego spokeswoman Jenny Brown said the Taj Mahal model was designed only for very experienced enthusiasts, adding: "It will certainly present a worthy challenge to most Lego fans - but a fun one".
The original Taj Mahal, in northern India, was built in the 17th century in memory of an emperor's wife. It took 22 years and 20,000 workers.
It won't take Lego fans quite as long; they can build their own replica, complete with domes, minarets, arches and stairs, in a little under 40 hours.

Plastic Fantastic
PLASTIC FANTASTIC
LEGO is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its lovable minifigure with some tongue-in-cheek celebrity characters.
The just-for-fun plastic toys include interpretations of the X-Factor panel, the Beckhams and Madonna.
Also featured in the digital mock-ups are Brad and Angelina, TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh and veteran singer Cliff Richard.
Four billion cops, builders, nurses and Darth Vaders figures have already made since 1978 ó but these designs unfortunately will not be going into mass production.

Daniel Craig James Bond
Guess the Lego Movie Star
GUESS THE LEGO MOVIE STAR
The cold stare, the sharp suit, the machine gun, this tiny character certainly has a licence to kill.
Daniel Craig as James Bond is one of the amazing mini Lego figures created by movie mad Tyler Clites.
The Florida toy fan creates heroes of the big screen in Lego form - with some taking up to 30 hours to perfect.
A fan of the Danish building bricks since he was four, 21-year-old film student Tyler has to adapt and paint existing 'minifigs' available to create some of his favourite movie stars.
His amazing work includes 1.5 inch high versions of Jack Bauer from 24, The Terminator, Neo from The Matrix, Bruce Willis in Die Hard and Bruce Lee.
Tyler has even made a hilarious small-scale version of Doc Brown and Marty McFly from Back to the Future - complete with a DeLorean car.
Tyler says: "Most of my ideas come from movies and television, and I'm particularly interested in sci-fi.
"The time it takes to build my creations usually varies on the size of the build. A smaller creation may take about 10 hours while some of the larger ones can take up to 30 hours.
"When I build, I usually have an idea of vision in mind and allow the creation to take shape from there. Occasionally though I will sit down and sketch out my ideas to get a clearer vision of what I want to build."
