Dog gives birth to a litter of 15 puppies, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, Wales - 19 Dec 2011

A Deluge Of Dalmatians
There aren't quite a 101 of them but for new mum Pebbles her 15 Dalmatian puppies are more than enough.
Pebble's owner Kay Sullivan was left shocked when her pet pooch gave birth to the huge litter - double the average number.
Unsurprisingly, the birth left two-and-half-year old Pebbles so exhausted that Kay, her husband Neil and their daughter Cerys had to step in to lend a helping hand.
Kay, from Carmarthenshire in Wales, comments: "We had to care for them for two days because Pebbles was not very well. She was very weak because they had taken all the energy out of her".
And thanks to their help all of the puppies have survived.
The family now have the task of coming up with names for all five males and ten females.
Newly christened is Patch and Phantom Of The Opera due to the fact half his face is black and the other white.
Their story has drawn parallels to the Disney film '101 Dalmatians' because 15 is the number of puppies stolen from Dalmatian parents Pongo and Perdy.
According to Kay, who is not a dog breeder, though they may keep one or two of the new arrivals they are looking to sell the rest.

NASA's Phoenix Lander sets down on Mars - 26 May 2008
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rex Features ( 766028F )
Vast plains of the northern polar region of Mars. The flat landscape is strewn with tiny pebbles and shows polygonal cracking, a pattern seen widely in Martian high latitudes and also observed in permafrost terrains on Earth. The polygonal cracking is believed to have resulted from seasonal freezing and thawing of surface ice
