The Soviets shows the first picture of the hidden side of the Moon on Moscow television tonight. The Moon rocket was launched on 4 October 1959.

The Soviet Union's Academy of Sciences today issued an invitation to foreign correspondants in Moscow - to meet the long missing British Atomic Scientist Professor Bruno Pontecorvo. It was announced that the Professor would make his first public appearance later this afternoon since disappearing from Harwell four years ago. He was accompanied by his wife Mrs Marianne Pontecorvo and their three sons when he disappeared while holidaying in Italy.

There are seventeen delegates ranging in age from 17 to 29 and they are going off to Moscow at the invitation of the Soviet Youth Anti Fascist Committee. Russia sent a special aeroplane to fly the delegation from Croydon to Moscow. During their visit they will study Soviet education methods and will visit Leningrad and Stalingrad.
