FEATURE - Arbeitsplatz im Grünen: Das Second Home Hollywood inmitten der Millionenmetropole Los Angeles
These striking snaps show a man-made forest in the middle of one of the world's most populous cities - which is available to rent as an OFFICE.The trendy site was built in Los Angeles to help workers feel a greater connection with nature - known as biophilic design. The old car park has been transformed into 60 circular work spaces with yellow rooftops, of varying size. Each is built partially underground to help with insulation and range from individual 'pods' to large, glass-walled meeting rooms.Titled Second Home Hollywood, the stunning space resembles a green lake covered in giant yellow lily-pads from above. The studios are surrounded by gardens bedded with 6,500 shrubs and 400 full-size trees - leading to the space being dubbed an 'urban forest'.The plants were sourced from Southern California to include species that are suited to the City of Angels' drought conditions and low amounts of water. The breathtaking project was constructed by SelgasCano, an architecture company from Spain. The campus, also known a HolLA, hosts weekly cultural, educational and wellness events, with an auditorium for 200 people. It also boasts a restaurant and a bar with a 2am alcohol license. The site is open 24/7.Co-founder Sam Aldenton said: "We’re trying to be a home for the 21st-century creative entrepreneur."We take it upon ourselves to be as creative as we can possibly be when trying to think what the home for the 21st century looks and feels like."It it thought that proximity to nature can ease stress, mental fatigue and burnout - making Second Home Hollywood the ideal working environment. *** Local Caption *** 30617003
