Martini celebrates 150 years of Italian Style at their glittering anniversary gala party, Lake Como, Italy - 19 Sep 2013
A host of famous faces descended on the shores of Lake Como to help Martini celebrate its 150th anniversary in spectacular style. Held in the palatial Villa Erba, the special gala saw guests enjoying MARTINI sparkling wines and a collection of cocktails made with MARTINI vermouth and created by some of the world's top bartenders. Entertainment was provided courtesy of Lily Allen and Chilly Gonzales, who performed on a special floating stage. Meanwhile, Mark Ronson filled the dance floor with a specially created set and renowned Orchestra Italiana Del Cinema entertained guests with a selection of Fellini film scores.

These pictures may show a dilapidated, crumbling, country pile in the Italian countryside, but it still expects to sell for GBP 26m. That's because it is currently owned by Hollywood megastar George Clooney who has had the Lake Como property as a European getaway since 2001. However, local paparazzi won't be too disappointed to hear that potential buyers include David and Victoria Beckham who are at present embroiled in a bidding war for the lakeside villa.
The other interested party in the race for the former home of the Heinz family is a billionaire Russian vodka magnate, so the Beckhams have their work cut out.
Villa Oleeandra is set within the stunning beauty of Lake Como, screened by topiary and red geranium and probably the most sought-after pad in all of celebrity-obsessed Italy now that it's been the home of Hollywood royalty. Estate agents say that such desirable properties as this 18th-century one set in the lakeside village of Laglio, rarely come on to the market.
