Police have released further images of people wanted for questioning in connection with the violence, disorder and looting seen in the London borough of Wandsworth between Sunday 7 and Tuesday 9 August. Police have released further images of people wanted for questioning in connection with the violence, disorder and looting seen in the London borough of Wandsworth between Sunday 7 and Tuesday 9 August. The release comes as the number of people arrested has reached more than 2,500 with more than 1,500 charges so far. There have now been a total of 2,590 arrests for a variety of offences with 1,507 charged so far. A total of 226 people have been sentenced for their part in the disorder with 77 receiving a custodial sentence. Commander Steve Rodhouse, who is in charge of the investigation, said: "My message to those involved in the disorder and criminality is that you will not get away with it. We have a huge team working on this investigation and we will find you". In response to the disorder a major investigation team was launched by the Metropolitan Police Service, codenamed Operation Withern. There are more than 100,000 hours of CCTV footage to view. Forensic and crime scene examiners have been working on more than 1,200 crime scenes. More than 350 DNA submissions and almost 300 fingerprint submissions have already been made to labs.
