The Duke of Edinburgh attends a Service of Dedication to Admiral Arthur Philip at Westminster Abbey.
Arthur Phillip was the Governor-Designate of the First Fleet, who founded
the colony of New South Wales, which was the beginning of what would become
the Commonwealth of Australia.
The Service at Westminster Abbey will mark the bicentenary of the death of
Admiral Phillip. During the Service a new memorial stone to Admiral Philip
will be dedicated, which has been especially commissioned and carved from
Sydney sandstone.
