Many animals learn social etiquette and other important behaviours through playing. This involves correction, coercion, and reconciliation, but the benefit is social cohesion, orderly hierarchy, and cooperation for mutual aid.
A year in the life of an otter family, Singapore - 2017
    *Full story: https://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/tu8d
British photographer Tim Plowden lives in a wild corner of Singapore that is also called home by a family of smooth-coated otters. The photographer has been keeping track of the adorable animals throughout 2017 as they have successfully raised a clutch six cubs. Their territory stretches along several miles of coastline, a network of mangrove rivers as well as urbanised sections of river and parkland. And Tim isn't the only person to be enchanted by the furry family with many locals having also taken them to heart. Tim comments: ?The playfulness of the cubs is enchanting and I love how strong their family bonds are. They always look out for each other and if they are apart for any length of time they greet each other with such exuberance it makes you appreciate just how close their family ties really are".

'Cameron and Farage Live: The EU Referendum', London, Britain - 07 Jul 2016
Julie Etchingham, who moderated ITV's successful Leaders' Debate during the 2015 General Election campaign, presented the hour-long programme in which David Cameron and Nigel Farage in turn answered questions from a studio audience.

Tonights programme saw both party leaders answer questions from a studio audience of up to 200 people. Nigel Farage took questions first, followed by David Cameron. The audience posed their questions directly to the politicians.

David Cameron wants Britain to remain in the EU, announcing the date of the 23rd June referendum in February. Nigel Farage has been campaigning for Britain to leave the EU for more than 20 years.

A second live event programme will be broadcast on Thursday 9th June at 8pm, where other leading political figures will put their respective cases to leave or to remain in the EU, in front of a studio audience.

Fraudster Bernard Madoff has been sentenced to 150 years for carrying out the biggest fraud in Wall Street history. The 70-year-old financier cheated nearly 5,000 investors out of billions of dollars after carrying out a Ponzi scam for decades. The $65 billion scandal broke in early December last year after he confessed all to his sons and they reported him. The scheme wiped out people's fortunes, ruined charities and foundations, and apparently pushed at least two investors to commit suicide. Speaking in court earlier this year after pleading guilty to 11 charges, including fraud, mail fraud and money laundering, the financier apologised to his victims. During sentencing today (29 June) at a Manhattan court judge Denny Chin gave Madoff 150 years - the maximum sentence possible. He commented: "The message must be sent that Mr Madoff 's crimes were extraordinarily evil". Madoff spoke for six minutes, commenting that he will live in "torment" for the rest of his life.

CNN correspondant Christine Ananpour listens to Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at a news conference in Tehran, Iran, Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006. The news conference by Ahmadinejad comes after efforts by European countries on Friday to build international support for bringing Iran before the UN Security Council, over its nuclear program.

On Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, CNN was banned from working in Iran because of a mistranslation of the president's comments, the culture ministry says. CNN had violated "professional ethics," the Iran news agency quoted the ministry as saying. CNN issued a correction after it translated the president as saying Iran had a right to use nuclear "weapons" rather than nuclear "technology." CNN does not have a bureau in Tehran but gets permits to cover assignments. Its chief international correspondent, Christiane Amanpour, is currently in the country. (FOTO: DUKAS/WORLDPICTURENEWS)
