The RMB, China's official currency, cracked through the 6.45 per dollar mark on Friday, hitting a new high of 6.4495 in middle rate. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the three note-issuing banks, which are Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp. and Bank of China (Hong Kong) unveiled the designs of the new 2010 series banknotes of 100, 50 and 20 HK dollars on Friday. The new banknotes will be gradually put into circulation starting from this November as the new 1,000 and 500 HK dollars banknotes are already in circulation.

A Stamp, designed and drawn by a Hong Kong postal official while a prisoner in Japanese hands, and now included in the King's collection, is among many valuable exhibits to be shown at the international Stamp exhibition opening at Grosvenor house, London, on may 6.
The stamp was designed by Mr.W.E. Jones during internment in Stanley camp. One slight alteration was made in the design - the King was shown in profile instead of full face. over half a million stamps, valued at two and a half million pounds, are to be shown in the exhibition.
