Homing Pigeon
An eleven -year-old girl Marion Earthy and her friends one day found an injured pigeon in Church Street , Reading . That was a year ago . Marion fed and looked after the pigeon in her garden at Crown Place , Reading . Soon it was cured and able to fly again . As soon as the bird was strong enough Marion's mother thought that it should be given its freedom . So on the following Sunday morning the family went out for a drive - accompanied by '' Pidgey Pie '' - as Marion called her feathered friend . They motored out of Reading and they released the pigeon . Tears began to well up in little Marion's eyes for her and her '' Pidgey Pie '' had become as friendly as a pair of turtle doves . Two days later , as Mrs Earthy busied herself about the house , there was a coo-ing at the window . '' Pidgey Pie '' was back ! When Marion returned home from school she began crying again - but this time she was shedding tears of joy . And , '' Pidgey Pie '' and Marion lived happily ever after.......

Ethiopian Tribe Recycles Modern Worldís Discards Into Fashion Accessories
The Daasanach are a semi-nomadic tribe numbering approximately 50,000 individuals who live in the Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia. In the past, the tribe roamed from place to place herding livestock around open areas according to the seasons and the changing availability of water. But over the last fifty years, having lost the majority of their lands, they have also grown dependent to agriculture. Like many tribes in the region, the Daasanach have moved to areas closer to the Omo River, where they attempt to grow enough crops to survive.
French photographer Eric Lafforgue has spent several years documenting the life and culture of these people, and how they have changed under the influence of modern manufactured goods. An interesting fashion trend amongst the Dassanach is their elaborate headgear, which they make from the strangest of materials bottle caps, wristwatches, hairclips, and other discarded pieces of plastic and metal.
The Daasanach spend months collecting bottle caps and scratching around for cash to pay for broken watches, which the women makes into jewelry and wigs. These are worn by both men and women, young and old.
Younger girls and children get the most basic version of the wig, while the oldest women are treated to the heaviest numbers with the most embellishment.
Men are only allowed to wear the bottle top wigs until they marry - after that, they create small clay headpieces decorated with a colourful harlequin pattern and enlivened with a feather, although the latter is only allowed after a hunt or a successful clash with an enemy.
The young men love to wear necklaces and earrings while the girls have bigger muscles because they do the most difficult work like carrying water, To prevent their headgears from getting spoiled while they sleep (apparently, they never take them off).

In what is believed to be the first 'Obama' haircut, teenager Kwame Boyce-Deacon has had US President-elect Barack Obama's face shaved into the back of his head.
The 14-year-old is a big fan of the US President-elect and wanted to show his support.
"He's a really good role model and everybody is talking about him, I think he'll do well in America," he said.
"The haircut is amazing. All my friends are impressed as they know no one else has this. I've become a bit of a celebrity."
Barber Clint Rainford, from Montsho's hair salon in Leicester, took 45 minutes to create the image of Obama and is now expecting the craze to catch on.
"I knew at the start of the campaign that Obama would be voted president, so I kept a photo ready to do this," he said.
"I've done lots of people before such as Bob Marley and Nelson Mandela, so it wasn't too difficult to do the image.
"I think it could become a bit of a craze among teenagers and young adults."
Kwame, from Leicester, said the image would probably grow out within three weeks but he would have it cut back in again.
"I want to have it for Christmas," he added.
