This is the virtual court hearing where Tyler Robinson, accused of assassinating conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was formally charged.
Robinson, 22, spoke only to give his name.
Even when told his alleged crime carried the death penalty, he only nodded slightly.
Otherwise he stared directly at the video link screen showing him the hearing at the State of Utah District Court presided over by Judge Tony Graf.
Also on the link was Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray who said the state would be asking for the death penalty.
As well as Kirk’s murder, Robinson has also been charged with felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering and commission of a violent offence in the presence of a child.
Robison was told an attorney would be provided as he could not afford one himself.
The charges relate to the shooting of Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
Earlier Gray said he does not "take this decision lightly" in seeking the death penalty for Robinson who was remanded in custody.
His next hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29.

Barcelona - The CEO of Glovo criminally charged.
The Barcelona Public Prosecutor's Office criminally charges the owner of the home delivery company Glovo for ignoring court rulings that required him to hire the delivery workers, as according to Spanish legislation, they would be considered false self-employed workers, since they work solely for the delivery company.

Tyrone Silcott the inside story of two rape trials: ‘It’s as bad as I’ve ever known it’
In sexual assault cases, the work of prosecution barristers is complex, poorly paid - and essential. With conviction rates extraordinarily low and barristers quitting criminal practice in droves, the Guardian shadowed prosecutor Tyrone Silcott for two years.
