A 25 foot high sea creature resembling Richard Branson has been spotted emerging from the sea on Bournemouth beach carrying a TV, laptop, phone and mobile to celebrate the launch of Virgin Media's Big Kahuna quad-play bundle.

A team of sculptors took over 500 hours to design and produce the creature, which measures 25 feet (8 metres) tall the size of a two-storey house and weighs over six tonnes.

But before panic set in and the military was deployed, the creature was revealed to be an impressive sculpture installed in the sea overnight by Virgin Media to mark the arrival of its new Big Kahuna quad-play bundle the first time TV, broadband, landline phone and mobile have been offered as a value package in the UK.

Richard Larcombe from Virgin Media commented: "We wanted our market-beating quad-play bundle to make a big entrance so naturally we thought what better way than having a giant Big Kahuna monster literally bringing it to the shores of the UK."

'Naughty Beach Fun' Wins Electron Microscope Competition
Naked bodies appear to frolic on a beach, a frog happily perches on a hill and a kangaroo bounds across the landscape.

These are some of the familiar - and bizarre - sights scientists have seen under the microscope.

These images were entries in the recent International Symposium on the Physical and Failure Analysis of Integrated Circuits in Singapore.

The annual photography competition sees eggheads showing off the fun side of their research in microelectronics technology.

The analysts work on 'failure analysis', the process of investigating why a particular electronic component fails to work.

The winning image, entitled People on the Beach by Lim Saw Sing at Infineon Technologies, depicts a polyimide surface after exposure to reactive ion etching and sputter coating. In reality, it looks uncannily like a saucy beach scene with dozens of cavorting couples.

Second prize was Wings by Foo Fang Jie at Advanced Micro Devices which sees fracture analysis of a silicon sample resembling a pair of wings. Third prize The Hope Terrace by Tan Lee Koon at Systems-on-Silicon Manufacturing Co. is a picture of wafer-edge chipping giving the effect of step-like spectacular landforms.

Other highlights included a 'Royal Elephant' on a silicon sample, a particle embedded in a metal layer resembling a tortoise in water and a 'Fist of Victory' highlighted by an image showing the nano fabrication capability of a FIB (Focused Ion Beam).

    'Hitler' House Becomes Internet Sensation
A house in Wales has become an internet sensation - because it bears a resemblance to Adolf Hitler.

The black slanting roof on the end-of-terrace house in Port Tenant, Swansea bears a likeness to the Fuhrer's slicked down, side-parted hair.

Meanwhile, the front door lintel brings to mind his distinctive toothbrush moustache and the small top windows his eyes.

The house's unusual looks were first commented upon by Twitter user Charli Dickenson.

According to Ms Dickenson she snapped a picture of the house while driving past it with her boyfriend.

When she commented on it on Twitter it was then picked up by comedian Jimmy Carr, which ensured that it became one of the site's most discussed topics.

The house belongs to a pensioner who is said to be baffled by all the attention.
