CALENDAR BRINGS DORSET'S JURASSIC JEWELS TO LIFE

A new charity calendar aims to bring some of Devon and Dorset's hidden beauty spots to life with a hidden twist - cleverly camouflaged women.

The 'Jurassic Jewels' calendar features various locations from the famed Jurassic coastline.

Skillfully worked into each of the pictures is calendar girl Sky Seraphin, covered only in body paint and blending into the background.

In one she appears as a fearsome water nymph emerging from a waterfall, while another shows her virtually indistinguishable from the pebbly beach around her.

The beautiful body of work was the brainchild of project organiser Cheryl Reynolds, and this is the second calendar she has produced.

For the 2009 edition images of the Jurassic Coastline were painted on to the models' bodies, and they were then photographed against a black backdrop.

Just like this year, the beautiful body art was all down to the creative talents of artists Mark Gannon and Amanda Williams.

Wanting something different for this year's calendar, they decided to take their model outside to shoot her on location.

Not surprisingly the decision proved to be slightly more difficult, and caused a few raised eyebrows from curious passers-by.

The 2010 calendar will raise money for children's hospice Julia's House, in Dorset, as well as MacMillan Cancer Support.

Sales from last year's GBP 7.50 calendar helped to raise GBP 4,000 for charity and the hope this year is to top that.

As such, everyone involved in putting the calendar together worked free of charge - bringing their different skills and their shared love of the landscape of the Jurassic Coast.
