Maria Sharp says goodbye to dog Chubby in touching photos, America, Oct 2014
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Suzanne Price/Suzuran Photos/REX (4197842k)
Photographer Says Goodbye To Her Dog With Heart-Warming Photo Shoot
Saying goodbye to a loved one is one of the hardest experiences life throws, and losing a pet is no exception.
Maria Sharp foresaw that the days with her beloved dog, Chubby, were numbered.
The 23-year-old photographer decided to create a portrait session so that she could always remember her.
Chubby sadly passed away last Monday (6 Oct). Maria will now have the memories and heart-warming photos to remember her beloved dog, who became her best friend over the last 16 years.
In order to capture her special moment with Chubby, she enlisted the help of a fellow photographer and dog lover, Suzanne Price.
The touching photos allow her to look back fondly on a bond that was so strong, that words cannot always describe.
Maria got Chubby from the pound when she was seven-years-old.
"Being the impatient seven year old that I was I would wake her up from her puppy naps so we could play.
"I just wanted someone to enjoy life with. I keep catching myself using human pronouns. Chubby isn't just a dog. She's my longest and best friend."
The young photographer also wrote about Chubby's final days in her blog, where she has uploaded photos of her as an adorable puppy, and her moving last photos shot by Suzanne.
Maria, who lives in Avon Lake, in a suburb of Cleveland, explains that she grew up living with just her mother and always longed for a companion.
"Chubby was my sister, my best friend, and companion. We were two peas in a pod. We got Chubby sixteen years ago, when I was 7 years old. She was only 6 weeks old."
"I know how important it is to preserve memories and time with loved ones, and this shouldn't just apply to humans.
"Being a photographer myself, I knew how important it was to capture time spent with love on...
