FLYING-BOAT CRASHES ON SOUTHAMPTON WATER
Partly submerged in Southampton water is a British overseas Airways ' Solent ' flying-boat which crashed as it lighted during a 45 miles an hour Gale.
The aircraft, piloted by Captain P.J.White, was on a test flight from the B.O.A.C. maintenance base in Hythe .
The crew of 6 and 5 technicians who were aboard the flying-boat were taken ashore by launch. One crew member, radio officer W.L. MacLean, was slightly injured.
