People sit on toilets instead of chairs at the Modern Toilet restaurant. The Modern Toilet restaurant is situated in the trendy Ximending area of Taipei in Taiwan, just off the Xining South Road. It is one of a chain of restaurants which has grown across Taiwan from a small ice cream shop to a fully-fledged restaurant selling great food, often shaped and themed around the toilet and of course in toilet shaped dishes and glasses. It all started from an idea from reading the manga Dr. Slump on the toilet!
Now you can get your chicken in a toilet shaped bowl and drink your honey and aloe drink from a urine collection bottle that is more at home beside a hospital bed. And of course, the ice cream comes in exactly the shape and colour you would expect. In fact, you get four options of the huge ice cream dishes that are a great favouriteÉ toilet 1, toilet 2, toilet 3 and toilet 4. Of course, both Asian and European style toilets are available depending on your taste or the meal you order.
Modern toilet is a great fun themed restaurant which is popular with locals and tourists alike and people of all ages.
