September "Shooting for the Daily Mews", We have seen many glamour puss calendars featuring purr-fect models - but this fashionable feline-themed calendar is the cat's whiskers.

Cats Transformed Into Glamour Pusses For Hilarious Calendar
We have seen calendars featuring purr-fect models - but this fashionable feline-themed calendar is the cat's whiskers.

The 2014 Glamour Puss calendar features pussy cats magically transformed into moggies fit for the catwalk.

But don't expect to see these chic cats on Britain's Got Talent, their poses were achieved with the help of computer trickery.

British publisher Maverick Arts employed photographer Paul Cocken to shoot the cats in a studio, before computer wizardry was applied to manipulate their poses.

Maverick MD Steve Bicknell explains: "The original studio shoot for Glamour Puss was by Paul, who told me he relies on lots of patience from the cat owners, coupled with gentle encouragement.

"But like most animal models they tend to respond best to food treats. Suffice to say, that is why September model Tinkaboo is pictured licking his lips at the photo session.

Explaining his other cat model choices, Steve says:

"Jess is the cat used on the cover as the 'Aristocat'. We love Jess cat because he has such ama...

Prince William and Kate to Ride in Diana's Wedding Carriage
With little more than a month to the British royal wedding, preparations are frantically under way to ensure an immaculate turnout for the horses and carriages that will form the regal procession through London's streets, the centerpiece of the day's regal festivities.

Behind closed doors at the Royal Mews, ornate coaches were being polished on Monday ahead of the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton on 29 April.

The Mews, located next to Buckingham Palace, houses the royal collection of carriages and limousines used by the monarchy on state occasions and special celebrations.

Centre stage is the fairytale Glass Coach, a shining dark maroon carriage with crimson and gold detail, dating from 1881. The coach has been used on several occasions by royal brides on their journeys to be married, including Lady Diana Spencer, on her way to wed Prince Charles in 1981.

The carriage has a fixed roof designed to keep the rain at bay and will be used by Prince William and his new bride on their return journey from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace in case of inclement weather.

Workers on Monday subjected the coach to a thorough polishing, cleaning every part, from its wheels to the crown-shaped ornaments on its roof.

Attention to detail is lavished on every aspect of the procession regalia.

Leather horse harnesses, richly decorated with brass insignia, are spotlessly cleaned.

    At Home With The Windsors
In 1969 thousands sat glued to their television screens as a documentary lifted the lid on the Royal Family for the first time.

Viewers around the world were enthralled by 'Royal Family', which took a behind-the-scenes look at the Windsors.

BBC stills photographer Joan Williams was offered an even more intimate glimpse than most into this hithero unseen world.

As the only photographer attached to the documentary team she produced a candid collection of images that revealed the Royal Family in a whole new light.

When word first got out about the documentary being filmed, newspapers across the country clamoured to get their photographers involved.

However, the decision was made to invite just one - and Joan had her work on children's TV show Blue Peter to thank for being chosen.

She comments: "The year before I'd photographed the royal children when they came into the Blue Peter studio to meet the presenters and animals.

"Afterwards, the photos were sent to the palace by the producer of the program.

"Then the following year when they were making the Royal Family they didn't have a stills photographer with them.

"They'd been filming for four months when the whole of Fleet Street heard and they all wanted to send in their photographers.

"Of course that wasn't possible because the production and palace wanted control.

"The palace remembered my stills of the children and it was suggested that I join them".

Without a second to feel any nerves, Joan received the phone call offering her the job - and started the very next day.

"I was thrown in the deep end, but you take it in your stride because it was just another assignment - though admittedly a fantastic one.

"I didn't find it stressful at all. I just thought I was very privileged".

Over the course of a y...
