ISIS demolition of Baalshamin Temple
ISIS have continued their destructive rampage in Palmyra by destroying the Temple of Baalshamin.
Photos released by the group show the ancient Graeco-Roman structure being rigged with explosives before they're detonated.
The explosion brought down the inner sanctum, or cella, and surrounding pillars.
The Temple of Baalshamin was built nearly 2,000 years ago and was considered the second most important structure at Palmyra.
The act has been widely condemned internationally and the UN's cultural organisation said that it constituted a 'war crime'.

Islamic State Seizes Syria's Ancient Palmyra
May 20, 2015 - File - Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria have seized the ancient city of Palmyra and have entered the site containing prized ruins. The Syrian Observatory monitoring group says there are no reports yet of any destruction of artifacts. It says IS also controls the nearby air base, prison and intelligence HQ. Syria has admitted it has pulled pro-government troops out of the city. IS has previously demolished ancient sites in Iraq that pre-date Islam. Pictured: 2009 - Ruins at Palmyra (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)
