A rain shield for bicycles which the rider pops up in bad weather has been created. When not in use, the BikerTop sits folded down in a bag on the handlebars. The bag attaches to the bars via a quick-release mounting bracket, although it can also be key-locked in place when the bike is parked in public.Once it starts raining, the rider stops, folds out the BikerTop's two aluminium vertical support arms, then extends those telescoping arms along with the flexible rain shield. The shield is made of waterproof nylon with a transparent polyurethane windshield, with PVC mesh "wings" on either side. The whole process reportedly takes just 10 to 15 seconds. The shield is claimed to withstand winds of up to 35 km/h.There is no windshield wiper, but the designers say most scooter windshields are also wiper-less.Reflective glass beads in some parts of the shield help make it visible to drivers at night.

A pop-up wearable pod could be the answer to schools returning during the pandemic. The transparent wearable offers a barrier to the virus for the top half of the body. The design enables people to perform many tasks making it ideal for the classroom and shop staff.Hands are free and there is no mask to muffle speech or hide a smile. The ShieldPod was originally developed to help protect healthcare workers from possible exposure .The $79 USD / €67 euros contraption is said to be lightweight enough that it can even be worn by those people identified as more vulnerable to coronavirus such as the elderly But the company behind it decided to modify the style to accommodate everyone including teachers.

An artist has created the ultimate tiny homes – that spring from the pages of miniature pop-up books Some of the hand rafted properties contain everything you would expect to find in a home and more.Clocks, no larger than a droplet of water, hang on the wall. A bathroom features a picture frame r over the tub. The painting inside that frame is even daintier — with individual brushstrokes the size of fingerprint-ridges.There are tea sets, fold out chairs and fireplaces, tie backs for curtains, fine patterned wallpapers, rugs and mirrors. They are the work of Japanese artist Yuriko Kitano who is based in Tokyo. All are made using cardboard, paper, paints , glue and scissors and measure around 30 mm by 40 mm.
