Michael Jackson: The Official Exhibition O2 Bubble. London, Britain - 26 Oct 2009
A host of memorabilia has gone display at the O2 Bubble in London as part of 'Michael Jackson: The Official Exhibition'. The exhibition includes more than 250 items from Jackson's estate, some of which have never been seen by the public before. Some of the personal items on display include a gilded throne, a bejewelled crown and a green rocketship. There are also numerous stage costumes and outfits, including a selection of the king of pop's famous signature gloves. Visitors to the exhibition can listen to some of Jackson's best-known hits as they wander beneath an arch that used to stand at Jackson's fairytale Neverland ranch. The display will open to the public on Wednesday (28 October) - the same day that Jackson's 'This Is It' film premieres around the world. The documentary contains footage showing Jackson's final months as he prepared for his comeback gigs.

Beatles' George Harrison faked autographs of John, Paul and Ringo in order to give dying girl the biggest thrill of her short life - 01 May 2009
As a last gift before her young body succumbed to leukaemia in the 1960s, Ann Bartlett was presented with a signed photograph of her idols, The Beatles. However, guitarist George Harrison had to become a master forger and fake the autographs of his fellow bandmates in order to give the dying girl the biggest thrill of her short life. The very slight differences - when compared with authenticated signatures - mean experts and the auction house think it probable that they were forged by the lead guitarist in order not to disappoint a young leukaemia victim, one of the group's biggest fans The photographs will be going under the hammer at auctioneers' Keys' sale at Aylsham and are being sold together, with keen interest from prospective bidders. The guide price is GBP 1,000 to GBP 1,200, with all proceeds going to fund research at the UEA

Barney Pryor, who helped his pet Airedale terrier Gypsy give birth to a litter of 11 puppies - 07 Feb 2008
When sixth-former Barney Pryor woke up he thought it would be just other normal day, little did he realise that he would soon be in for a wuff time after having to leap into action as an emergency midwife.

Barney, 17, was just about to leave for school when he realised that the family's pregnant Airedale terrier Gypsy had gone into labour, three days earlier than expected.

Realising that the desperate dog needed a helping hand Barney went on the internet to see just exactly what he should do.

With no previous medical skills, Barney then had to help the second time mum by getting each of the puppies out of the sack they were born in before passing them onto Gypsy to clean.

The action happened in the laundry room of the family home and Barney, according to his mom Liz, used every towel in the house to assist in the messy business.

As Gypsy gave birth to pup after pup, plucky Barney stuck with his midwifery duties even though the whole process left him feeling a bit ill. He didn't let being unsure about what to do put him off either, after all, he comments, Gypsy looked even worse, so the pair of them "just got on with it".

Throughout the day Barney and Gypsy safely delivered puppy after puppy, and the number was up to six when his step brother Tom McGrellis came home at 3.30pm.

The puppy toll was up to eight by the time Liz got home and the final count was six girls and five boys. Something of a surprise as Gypsy had only given birth to one pup last time around.

But, it doesn't look like Barney's midwifery skills will be called on again, as this was the final time that Gypsy will be bred. News that has certainly come as a relief to Barney.
