ROYALS - Prinzessin Dianas Fahrrad, das sie vor ihrer Hochzeit mit Prinz Charles verkaufen musste, steht zum Verkauf

A bicycle used by late British royal Princess Diana before she married Prince Charles is being sold at auction. The blue Raleigh Traveller was once declared “unfit for a Princess”.Before she became a princess, the then Lady Diana Spencer enjoyed riding the bicycle as a teenager around Kensington, London. She’d leave it chained to the railings outside her London flat, even commenting in interviews about once having a wheel stolen.Shortly after her engagement to Prince Charles aged 19 in 1981 , the bike made newspaper headlines when Diana was ordered to stop riding by Royal officials. Royal watchers dubbed it the “shame bike” as a famous symbol of Diana’s alleged oppression. Something she loved being taken away over what was deemed acceptable for a lady of the British Royal Family. The bike is to be auctioned at UK saleroom Burstow & Hewett Auctioneers in Battle, East Sussex on 28th April 2021.It is expected to sell for over £9,000 GBP but interest in Netflix TV series The Crown, which recently featured Diana’s story, the prices is expected to go higher.
