Three years later, Aesha is living in the US and has had reconstructive surgery to rebuild her face. For the first time on television, the 21-year-old has spoken to ITV's Daybreak about her ordeal. Aesha'a father sold her to a Taliban fighter to pay off a debt when she was just 12 years old. After suffering years of physical and emotional abuse she fled but was caught and jailed for five months. Following her release she was sent back to her husband. As punishment she then had her nose and ears cut off.
