Dogs Tarraq an Nova playfighting. Thomas Bakke says: "After buying my first "processional" lens I wanted to test it out the same afternoon. I shoot some pictures of the dogs as they were running around playing. At one point they more or less ran in to each other and jumped up. When I got home I found out that I had captured this picture. This is what truly got me interested in photography."
The dog photography of Thomas Bakke, Norway - 2016
    FULL WORDS: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/stqf

The relationship between one man and his dog has resulted in an amazing photographic partnership.

Thomas Bakke, from Norway, always enjoyed hikes with his four-legged friend Tarraq, but it was his early shots of the energetic canine that fostered an impressive interest in documenting their time together.

The results feature spectacular images of the five-year-old Saarloos Wolfhound breed dog set against jaw-dropping landscapes.

Highlights include Tarraq leaping between two huge boulders, as well as backdrops of mountain ranges, rivers and waterfalls.

    What are you looking at?!

Globe-trotting couple Chanel Cartell and Stevo Dirnberger have taken a series of hilarious animal mug-shots during their travels.

The series includes curious sheep, hungry rabbits, inquisitive cows and drooling bulldogs.

Chanel and Stevo quit their jobs 14 months ago and have been travelling the world ever since. The couple have visited 31 countries so far, and been papping animals along the way.

Chanel and Stevo said: "In order to get the style of picture we were after, we would use a wide-angle lens and we'd need to get really close to the subjects, which is tricky in itself. You then use the camera's continuous shooting function, and hope that the eyes remain in focus - this is the most important part."

These amazing pictures show a wildlife photographer having a very close encounter with a curious polar bear.

Kyriakos Kaziras was lucky to escape with only a few jaw-dropping images when a male adult swiped at him through a ship's porthole.

He took the picture series from a boat on the sea ice north of Spitsbergen.

Kyriakos explains: "He not only came up to our boat, but remained more than two hours to walk around it. He tried with a lot of perseverance to get on the boat. He poked his nose through all reachable holes and portholes.

"It was at that moment, he tried to reach me and grab my camera. My camera sunshield did not resist."

A fledging dunnock photographed at the Folly Wildlife Rescue Centre in Sussex, UK. Dunnocks (Prunella modularis), often called hedge sparrows, are charasmatic little birds. Always on the move, always interested, the youngsters are plucky little birds with a great expressive face as this one shows.

An adorable project shows the baby birds of Britain in the first days of their lives.

Wildlife photographer Gavin Parsons has worked closely with UK rescue centres to capture chicks bought in for care.

He has spent the last three years photographing some of the baby birds bought into Folly Wildlife Rescue in Sussex and the RSPCA Wildlife Rescue Centre West Hatch in Somerset.

Each year hundreds of hatchlings are bought to rescue centres either after their nests have been disturbed or when they have been mistakenly picked up by well-meaning members of the public after they have fledged.

A juvenile goldfinch photographed at the RSPCA wildlife Rescue centre at West Hatch, Somerset. One of the UK's prettiest birds, the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) is a stunning creature. The young don't have the characteristic reds and golds of the parents, but they are cheeky in interested little birds. This individual posed for the pictures looking around like a professional model and stayed in place for the few minutes of the shoot.
