Puffin's Monster Mouthful Of Fish
Now that's what you call a mouthful!
This greedy puffin answers the question: 'who ate all the fish?'.
The hungry bird was spotted with its beak stuffed full of fish on Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire by wildlife photographer Drew Buckley.
He comments: "I never tire of photographing these little guys, they cheer you up just looking at them.
"Every pose they make oozes character which makes them a joy to photograph.
"Especially this time of year as they're bringing back beaks full of sand eels to feed the chicks".
Puffins have specialised beaks that enable them to carry a large number of fish at the same time.
They will push each fish to the back of their mouth with their tongue, where ridges at the top of their bill secure them in place.
This allows the puffin to keep their mouth open to catch more fish - finally ending up with an overflowing mouthful.
Skomer Island measures two by 1.5 miles and lies just of the Pembrokeshire coast; it is home to one of the most important puffin colonies in the country.
