The revolutionary 12-story architectural landmark was originally designed 50 years ago as a pavilion for the Expo 67 Montreal world's fair, consisting of 354 precast concrete blocks piled on top of one another to create 157 apartments. On April 27, 2017, the structure's 50th anniversary, Canada issued a Habitat 67 commemorative stamp to celebrate the country's founding 150 years ago.
