Former women's skating champion of Sweden, Miss Britt has been chosen from over a hundred girls to play the part of Cinderella in Britain's first ice pantomime. ' Cinderella on ice', which opens at the Empress Hall on Boxing Day.

MONTY OPENS BALLROOM MEMORIAL TO EIGHTH ARMY
Field-Marshal Viscount Montgomery of Alamein recalled his most famous campaign when today he unveiled a plaque at the victory (Ex Services) club in Seymour Street, Marble Arch, London. He was taking part in the opening ceremony of the clubs ballroom, which is the gift of the Eighth Army and is its war memorial in London.
Field-Marshal Montgomery - now Western Union's commander-in-chief - commanded Britain's eighth Army in its successful offensive at El Alamein in October 1942.
today is Alamein day, commemorating the battle which started the eighth Army on its historic advance across north Africa.
Filled-Marshal Viscount Montgomery reading the inscription on the plaque, above which is the eighth Army emblem.
