'This is our shrine': Why Harry Styles fans are on pilgrimage to a viaduct
Harries are flying across the globe to visit Holmes Chapel, leaving a trail of muddied clothes and very personal questions.
Elvis Presley had Graceland. Dolly Parton has Dollywood. Harry Styles has a railway viaduct on the mudflats of rural Cheshire.
It may not compare to the grand estates of some megastars but fans across the world are descending on the sleepy village of Holmes Chapel to pay homage to its most famous former resident.
Holmes Chapel Railway Station manager GRAHAM BLAKE (62) in the ticket booth where he works. Graham has decorated the ticket office and set up a series of visitors' books in which fans have been leaving messages. Harry Styles fans - known as "Harries" - are travelling to the pop star's home town of Holmes Chapel from all over the world. In response, the community are recruiting tour guides and providing information and advice for visiting fans.
04/04/2024. Holmes Chapel, UK.

Manchester viaduct to become an urban ‘sky park’ National Trust says £1.8m Castlefield project will bring green space to the city centre
A disused Manchester viaduct will transform into an urban “sky park” this summer, providing much needed green space to one of Britain’s least verdant city centres.
The National Trust starting work to turn an imposing steel rail viaduct into an urban sky park for Manchester’s historic Castlefield district.
The 330m crossing was constructed in 1892 to carry heavy rail traffic in and out of the nearby Great Northern Warehouse but closed in 1969. It has since stood unused with National Highways undertaking essential repairs and regular maintenance to keep it safe.
The pilot phase of the new park project will see a green space created to stretch half way across the elevation of the viaduct. Trees, flowers and shrubs will be planted to soften the hulking, grey steel work of the industrial structure to help attract wildlife. Manchester high line.
