STUDIO - Bush Theatre in London
Artistic director Madani Younis today claimed the Bush Theatre is the only venue in London "delivering on diversity" as the building prepares to reopen following a £4.3 million expansion and a pledge that at least half of its work will come from ethnic minority writers. The Bush returns to its refurbished home in Uxbridge Road from Saturday following a year at pop-up locations in Shepherd’s Bush. Architecture firm Haworth Tompkins has expanded the main auditorium, added a studio space of 60 to 70 seats, renovated rehearsal and dressing rooms and created an alfresco bar and dining area. The new season will launch with Black Lives, Black Words, a series of short plays inspired by Black Lives Matter, before the European premiere of US playwright Rajiv Joseph’s Guards At The Taj in a production directed by Jamie Lloyd. Life in Mosul, Iraq - Mar 2017
*Full story: https://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/t87b
The Iraqi army announced the liberation of the entire East-Mosul on Jan. 18, three months after the beginning of the offensive. Iraq's armed forces launched the offensive to retake Mosul in October and are still fighting to retake western Mosul, on the other bank of the Tigris River. The fighting has seen thousands of Iraqs flee, with the country?s immigration minister Jassim Mohammed recently reporting that some 355,000 people have been displaced. Many end up at already overcrowded refugee camps such as Al-Alil to the south of Mosul. Others head to the shattered eastern side of the city. Here, while ISIS, who took over the city in June 2014, may have been driven out the scars and damage left in their wake is still painfully visible. As residents slowly return to their homes they face a large hard battle just to survive let alone rebuild and return to a semblance of normal life.

Chilling footage showing the murder of Kim Jong-nam (red arrow), the playboy half-brother of Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un on Monday morning, which has been posted on Youtube and is shown here in graphic detail in grabs from that video. The extraordinary video shows the moment female assassins sneak up on him with one coming at him from behind and spraying or smearing poison in his face with her hands. The female assassins then calmly walk off in opposite directions (shown here walking away with pink and yellow arrows) in a hit which is timed on the footage as taking only 2.33 seconds to carry out. The entire video begins by showing Kim Jong-nam entering the Malaysian airport and then looking up at a screen to look for details of his flight. In the next chilling scene, the two assassins come at him from different directions with the killer in the 'LOL' logo-emblazoned top approaching him from behind and putting her hands around his head to his face. He is sprayed or smeared with poison, possibly placed on gloves, during a brief struggle and both women then walk calmly away from him. Kim Jong-nam is then seen walking towards staff and security and explaining and displaying with visible hand movements what has just happened to him. He then appears to walk off unsteadily with security personal. A seperate photo was released showing him shortly afterwards unconscious and slumbered on an airport armchair before he dies.

Chilling footage showing the murder of Kim Jong-nam (shown here centre), the playboy half-brother of Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un on Monday morning, which has been posted on Youtube and is shown here in graphic detail in grabs from that video. The extraordinary video shows the moment female assassins sneak up on him with one coming at him from behind and spraying or smearing poison in his face with her hands (shown here centre). The female assassins then calmly walk off in opposite directions in a hit which is timed on the footage as taking only 2.33 seconds to carry out.
